Flights Resume at Scotland's Busiest Airport After Substantial Control Tower IT Issue
Passenger services have restarted at Scotland's primary international airport following a major air traffic control outage brought the international hub to a standstill.
All incoming and outgoing flights were suspended after an technical fault that occurred at about 08:30.
Some passengers reported being stuck in planes on the runway as the outage continued.
Flights Resume with Ongoing Delays
A statement indicated at 10:40 that operations had restarted, and thanked passengers for their "cooperation and patience".
However, ongoing issues are likely to affect schedules. Flights to key destinations like Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, and Bristol have been axed, with a host of additional flights facing hold-ups.
Officials had previously estimated that dozens of flights could be affected.
"Flyers are asked to check directly with their airline for the current status on their specific flights," the statement added.
