I beheld malevolence as attacker sought to force entry Jewish temple, rabbi narrates
A spiritual leader has described the moment when a person tried to barge into his Manchester house of worship during a lethal attack, stating "I saw evil, I witnessed hate".
The spiritual leader stated that he and congregation members held the entrances of the worship house as the assailant was "forcing the doors, flinging weighty plant pots, attempting whatever he could to get in".
Commending the fast-acting of those at the worship center, he stated: "I observed true bravery, I must admit, and people who ran to aid other people rather than escaping. It was astonishing."
Adrian Daulby, 53, and Melvin Cravitz, 66, both succumbed after the attacker struck people and assaulted a person on the day of the incident.

The spiritual leader explained that the incident occurred before the religious ceremony was in full flow, and afterwards there would have been numerous of people in attendance.
He stated: "Unless one gentleman in especial hadn't acted as promptly as he did and got the gateways locked, anyone can envision what would have transpired."
Explaining how the incident developed, he said a number of worshippers maintained the entrances closed from the interior to make sure the intruder was unable to get in.
Later after the authorities reached the scene, rabbi Walker said two additional people inside the building were hurt.
A person was killed and a different individual injured by law enforcement gunfire, law enforcement has confirmed.
A statement from the agency identified the individual who died by officers as Mr Daulby.
Talking to the press, the cleric mentioned he would do his best to offer solace to the families of those who died and the wider community.
"There is apprehension but there is also backing", he stated.
"I am convinced and hope that we can offer confidence and hope. I am certain very firmly that we can't permit this to defeat us".
The national leader and observers have commended the cleric and the security guards as "heroes" for their conduct.
When inquired if he saw himself as a courageous individual, he said: "I'm not sure that is correct".
Nevertheless, a witness at the location mentioned the spiritual leader had been composed during as he and others directed the assembly to security.
The family of the victim has also expressed admiration to their "hero" who died during "the action of courage to rescue fellow human beings".
"The family is shocked by the devastating, unexpected death of such a kind modest individual" the message added, as the relatives asked for privacy to process their loss.
